Job Description (English)
Job Summary

The Merchandiser’s key responsibilities is to follow closely with the factories to ensure the sampling / productions are happening as required and on planned time. Working on the Vendor Management / Brand relationship. Performing based on the sourcing strategy defined and responsible for identifying the opportunities on cost savings, better executions & new vendors on board based on demands.


The will work closely with cross functional teams such as buying, design, QC & supply chain to ensure the objectives are met in terms of development & production of the collections.

Duties & Responsibilities 
  • In-depth technical knowledge on the products and materials to ensure the executions on are happened as required
  • Understanding of Tech-packs / BOM’s and interpret well to the factories
  • Manage the vendor relationships & evaluate vendor performance
  • Handling and Tracking the samples, costing. And work closely with other departments like Buying, Designing ,Technical for timely approvals
  • Follow up on T&A on defined periodical basis and update to line manager and respective other internal departments. Ensure and double check the T&A provided by the factories with the help of field teams
  • Handling the Masterfile, System updates and assist ERP team on PO’s / Barcodes etc.
  • Work closely with QC / Logistics team for quality assurance and Shipment Planning based on product deliveries to the stores.
  • Responsible for Product development and order placements in the efficient and effective way
  • Resolve issues within a timely manner while working to continuously improve and create internal and external processes and procedures
  • Follow up on the payment request, provide the necessary documents from suppliers to the Brand

    and Finance depts. with all necessary approvals / PO Updates to ensure things are happened on time internally

  • Creates a collaborative and positive communication with all other related departments
  • Achieve production deadlines by proactively planning, coordinating and managing external sources while identifying and addressing issues that may impact timelines or cost.
Protects each Brand’s information integrity and ability to report by insuring that all system maintenance and reconciliation for purchasing is complete and accurate
Required Education/Skills:
  • English language is a must, writing & speaking
  • Minimum of a University degree or equivalent
  • Min 2 years of experience in Merchandising / Sourcing Role, in sizable apparel brands or buying houses
  • Detailed understanding of product cost engineering
  • Knowledge of Asia production is vital and in particular China, India sub-continent and Bangladesh.
  • Apparel and fabric manufacturing economics and operations management (i.e., lead-times, transit times, garment and fabric construction and apparel manufacturing operations)
  • Effective problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent team player with verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well versed in Microsoft office applications (such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint…).
